Country singer-guitarist Waylon Jennings is joining the eclectic lineup for Lollapalooza '96, which begins June 27 in Kansas City, Mo.
In addition to Jennings, who along with Willie Nelson led the "outlaw country" movement in the '70s, this year's trek features Wu Tang Clan, Devo, Rage Against the Machine, Cocteau Twins and Cheap Trick.Jennings, a seasoned performer who played with Buddy Holly and gave up his seat on the plane that killed Holly in 1959, should give Lollapalooza a dose of true grit.
Metallica and Soundgarden have already been confirmed for the annual touring rock festival.
