Jessie Millgate Thornton, age 87, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away June 16, 1996 in Salt Lake City.
She was born March 4, 1909 in Fillmore to Jesse and Darcus Leanah Folk Millgate. She married Mirl Holley, later divorced. Married Leonard Thornton, March 21, 1935 in Fillmore. He died in May 1982. She loved visitors and always had homemade cinnamon rolls, bread, soup, etc. ready.Survived by her children: Mirl (Emma) Holley, Price; Gloria (Ted) Coltrin, Meridan, Idaho; Jay (Margaret) Thornton, Salt Lake City. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Trudy Thornton, Pleasant Grove; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, LeRoy; Clairmont and Royal.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 1995 at 11 a.m. in the Fillmore Stake Center where friends may call Wednesday from 10-10:45 p.m. Burial will take place in the Fillmore City Cemetery under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, Fillmore.
