SHARE NEW IDEAS AT JUNE 26 DEMO WILL HELP FILL THAT GRILL

Barbecue basics and beyond will be covered in a demonstration sponsored by the Utah County Office of USU Extension at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Kiwanis Park in Pleasant Grove.

Experienced grillers from the Utah Beef Council will have information for those wanting new ideas as well as for the beginner needing the basics. Three meats will be demonstrated including at tri-tip roast and fajitas on a stick. Marinade and a rub will be used. Both a gas grill and a grill using coals will be demonstrated.In addition, the Utah Beef Council representatives will discuss lean cuts and tender cuts, what coals should look like, flavor enhancers, steak recipes and food safety. There will be samples to enjoy that evening and printed materials to take home.

The number registered by Friday, June 21, will determine if the demonstration will be held. Register by sending $2 per person ($3 for husband and wife) to Utah County Extension, 51 S. University Ave, Room 206, Provo, UT 84601. Directions to the park will be given at the time of registration.
