The Utah Bar Foundation has awarded more than $285,000 in grants to nine legal organizations, including several serving disadvantaged residents. The foundation is a charitable, nonprofit agency supported by Utah lawyers.
1996 grant recipients and amounts are the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake, $90,000; Utah Legal Services, 87,700; Law Related Education, $35,000; Catholic Community Services Immigration Project, $26,000; Legal Center for People with Disabilities, $10,000; DNA People's Legal Services, $20,000, Administrative Office of the Courts, $5,000; Utah Legal Services Senior Lawyer Volunteer Project, $3,000; and the Utah State Bar Needs of Children Committee, $2,000.
