Olivia Smith, our wife, mother, sister and best friend passed away June 18, 1996, after a courageous 12 year battle with breast cancer.
Olivia was born on April 27, 1940, to Helen Streppa and Frank Stringi in Pittsburgh, PA. She married D. Vaughn Micklos in 1960, and had four children. Moved to So. California. Later divorced. She married McDonald Smith in 1977, and moved to Utah, they had one child. In 1991, both Don and Olivia relocated to Phoenix, Ariz. and have resided there since. In 1993, Olivia became a member of the LDS Church.She was a vibrant, intelligent, and inspired person, she was a devoted wife and mother. Olivia will be best known for her caring and compassion for others. Her grace, courage and strength in the face of her illness will be a source of inspiration for us the rest our lives.
Survived by her husband, McDonald Smith, five children: Lisa (Albert) Pellicano, Buena Park, Calif. Vicki (John) Godwin, W. Jordan, Joe (Angela) Micklos, and Stephen Micklos, both of Salt Lake City, Rachelle Smith, Glendale, Ariz, two stepsons, Chad (Marcia) Smith and Brandt Smith both of Kaysville, Utah, four grandchildren; Blake, Alissa, Jack and Anthony; mother, Helen Stringi, sister, Anita (Armand) Runco, brother, Frank Stringi, all of Phoenix, Ariz. Preceded in death by father, Frank, and brother, John Stringi.
She is also survived by a large extended family and will be sorely missed by everyone.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 22,
2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 S. 1700 East. Friends may call Friday evening from 7-9 p.m., Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
