SHARE EDCU GIVES OUT $24,528 IN GRANTS

The Economic Development Corporation of Utah has awarded $24,528 to several local governments and other organizations, according to D.N. Rose, chairman of the grant committee and president and chief executive officer of Mountain Fuel Supply Co.

Awarded twice a year, the grants must be used within six months and the recipients must provide matching amounts.Box Elder County received $5,000 for a marketing brochure; Brigham City got $1,300 for a marketing brochure; Cache Chamber of Commerce, $5,000 for a promotional video; Payson, $628 for a demographics book; Perry, Box Elder County, $600 for a marketing brochure.

Others are Salt Lake County, $750 for professional development; Sandy, $750 for professional development and $2,500 for an economic impact model; South Jordan, $3,500 for a marketing brochure; Taylorsville, $2,000 for an economic development brochure; and the Utah Information Technologies Association, $2,500 for an industry survey.
