President Clinton's support is virtually unchanged from nearly three weeks ago despite the almost daily discussions of ethics questions involving the White House, the latest New York Times Poll shows.

The poll found that Americans were not especially troubled by the latest accounts of Whitewater-related issues, the Times reports Wednesday. More than half of those surveyed said they were reserving judgment on the matter of FBI files obtained by the White House.Clinton's job-approval rating stood at 53 percent, while the disapproval rating was 36 percent.

When the registered voters who were surveyed were asked whom they support "if the 1996 presidential election were being held today," 54 percent said they would back Clinton, while 34 percent said they would favor Bob Dole.
