Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Vidella Rushton Vance, age 93, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 24, 1996.

She was born January 21, 1903 in Hunter, Utah. She was the eldest of eleven children born to Walter J. and Jennie Wilding Rushton. She married Reed Vance June 1, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was dedicated to her family and a beautiful example of a woman, wife, and mother. She was respected and loved by all who knew her.She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities on the stake and ward level. She served a mission to the Central States Mission from 1925 to 1927. She and her husband also served a mission to Australia from March 1967 to June 1969. She also served as a temple worker for 20 years in the Salt Lake Temple.

She is survived by her husband and five children: Barbara Vance, Provo, UT; Carolyn Bennion (Rex), Israel; Wallace (Judy) Vance, Phoenix, AZ; David (Gloria) Vance, Bountiful, UT; Shauna (Ron) Riddle, Holladay, UT; 28 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren. Also survived by three sisters and three brothers: Stella Wach, Virginia Paulk, Parley (Maurine) Rushton, Elsie (Lowell) Mines, Warren Rushton, Welby (Julie) Rushton. Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

We'd like to offer a special thanks to the Holladay Health Care Center and their staff for caring for Vidella the past two years and also the Holladay Health Care Relief Society.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, 1996 at 12 Noon in the Wilford First LDS Ward Chapel, 3179 So. Highland Drive. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, from 6 - 8 Thursday evening June 27, 1996. A viewing will also be held from 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the Wilford Ward. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy, UT.
