Dear Do-It Man: I ordered three sets of pocket pie presses from Carol Martin Gifts. The company cashed my check but I haven't received my merchandise.
I'd like to get in touch with the company but I don't have the address.Can you help me?

Dear L.H.: Unfortunately we can't. We tried every avenue we could think of and came to a dead end on every one of them.
The company is not listed in the membership directory of the Direct Marketing Association, an industry trade group in New York City. Nor is it in the Directory of Mail Order Catalogs, published by a company in Maryland.
It is not listed in the Catalog of Catalogs, either.
We even phoned a company called Carol Wright Gifts to see whether it had heard of Carol Martin Gifts. Our assumption was that perhaps customers looking for Carol Martin Gifts called Carol Wright Gifts by mistake or in desperation because they couldn't locate Carol Martin Gifts.
The customer service agent we spoke to said he'd heard of Carol Martin Gifts but he didn't know where it was.
One clue we attempted to get was the name of the city that was stamped on the back of your cancelled check. But you weren't home when we tried to reach you by phone.
So, we're back to square one. If any of our readers can enlighten us, please give us a call at 237-2170.
