Wayne Davies Strong, 82, of Salt Lake City, died June 22, 1996, of cancer.

Born May 19, 1914 in Salt Lake City, to Ernest James and Eliza Davies Strong. Graduate of West High School. Attended University of Utah. Served LDS Mission to South Africa. Married Martha Helen Bush, June 14, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died September 15, 1982. Active member of the LDS Church, where he served in many positions. His favorite was that of teaching children. Wayne was a lifetime example of "anything worth doing is worth doing well". He astounded many with his unique talents. He was a true artist and has left a legacy that will be admired through many generations.Survived by children, Patsy Jeanne (Devon) Howell, West Jordan; Flora Lee (Rodger) Fullmer, Salt Lake; Robert Wayne (GayLynn) Strong; Donna Kay (Michael) Vehawn, all of San Jose, Calif.; Tina Lou (Kenneth) Sperry, West Jordan; Penny Lynne (Rand) Eardley, Salt Lake; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, wife, brothers, John, Douglas, Ernest Edward, Mariel Charles and Leonard Clarence; sisters, Afton Farnsworth, Ruth Cartwright/ Peirce, one grandson, one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held July 1, 1996 at 11 a.m. at the Cottonwood 13th LDS Ward, 1830 East 6400 South. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Mtn. View Memorial Estates.
