On a beautiful June morning, Dad came by to pick up Mother. We think they may have gone shopping, or taken a picnic to the park to await a parade. Wherever she is, we know birds sing, flowers bloom and children laugh. She was a strong woman who loved her family beyond measure. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Helen Smith Jensen, age 84, passed away June 4, 1996 at a local care center.
Born February 1, 1912 in Crescent, Utah to John E. and Anna Nielsen Smith. Married M. F. "Mike" Jensen on March 12, 1932 in Salt Lake City; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1992. Active member LDS church, faithfully serving in various positions.Sirvived by sons, M. Boyd and Marge Jensen, Farmington; J. Val and Karen, Ogden; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil, Bill, Elmer, Sherm and Dale Smith; sisters, Margaret Yansky and Louise Voeltz. Preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services Friday, June 7, 1996, 11 a.m., Midvale 1st Ward, 240 East 7570 So. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State and Friday, 10-10:45 at the church. Interment, Sunset Gardens.
