DON’T TRY TO MANIPULATE ISRAELIS

SHARE DON’T TRY TO MANIPULATE ISRAELIS

I think the Deseret News editorial of Saturday, June 1, regarding the Israeli elections reveals the base moral nature of mortal men in attempting to use control, dominion and compulsion over one another. I suggest that foreign aid to Israel by the United States of America was not ever intended to be used to blatantly manipulate their foreign or even domestic policies.

These gutsy people are just trying to survive in a reality far removed from the U.S. obsession of fast cars, sports and fast food. Let us "let" them do what they have to do without our low, mean, threatening, destabilizing and very obviously manipulative advice. This, lest the U.S. policy be found against Israel, against Israel's God, and its own internal destruction made sure.Benjamin Netanyahu won this election by due process and against tremendous opposition. I applaud him for preserving the democratic processes when anything else could have led to civil war over there.

He is to be congratulated, not manipulated. Especially in Utah.
