Dr. Robert Crapo, medical director of the pulmonary laboratory at LDS Hospital, has received the American Thoracic Society's 1996 Distinguished Achievement Award. Among many things, he has pioneered pulmonary function testing standards now used worldwide. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to decreasing mortality from acute illnesses. Therese Petersen has joined Mountain Cable Advertising's Salt Lake-based advertising and production staff as writer/producer. Mark Dorton Espenschied has been promoted to director of marketing at Dick Simon Trucking Inc. R. David Grant has joined the law firm of Parsons Behle & Latimer as a member of the litigation department. He will specialize in commercial litigation. Gary Brown has been hired by Hales Allen as a senior copywriter. Barry Daniels of SOS Staffing Services will head the office and sales aspects of the company's new Ogden north facility.
