Venice Amanda Petersen Mortensen, age 84, died June 5, 1996 in Bloomsburg, Penn., while visiting her daughter.
She was born January 27, 1912 in Kenilworth, Carbon County, Utah, to Soren and Amanda Tyler Petersen. Married Lenard M. Mortensen on February 4, 1930, in Price, Utah; later solemnized in the LDS Temple. He died November 17, 1991.She loved tending her flower gardens and entertaining her many friends and family. She was currently living at the Crosslands Retirement Community.
She is survived by one daughter, Zelma Jean (Daniel) Storper, Zions Grove, Penn.; five sons, Sonny J. (Verla), Bluffdale, Utah; Soren Delile, Provo, Utah; Kent J. (Evelyn), Draper, Utah; Danny R. (Roberta), Las Vegas, Nevada; Scotty H. (Mary), West Jordan, Utah; 29 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, two sons, Francis and Verdis E. Mortensen, three sisters, six brothers, two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 1996, 12 noon at the Sandy Crosslands Branch of the LDS Church, 11000 So. 89 East, Sandy. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. and Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
