Dance is all around, and here are a few performances scheduled for the Salt Lake area this week.

- THE UTAH ARTISTS JUNIOR BALLET COMPANY will present "Coppelia" at the Grand Theatre on the Salt Lake Community College's South Campus, 1575 S. State, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 and 12. "Coppelia" is a comedy written by E.T.A. Hoffmann, the author of "The Nutcracker," and is filled with ironic twists and mistaken identities.

- DANCE THEATRE COALITION will present "Winnifred's Wedding," a work that examines the stress and anxiety involved with a wedding, Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, at the Wooden Dog at Trolley Square.

Original choreography, video, words and music come together to create this production.

Tickets are available for $10. The Wooden Dog is between the Pub and the Flick in Trolley Square. No one under 21 will be admitted. For more information, call 532-3807.

- THE BAYANIHAN DANCE TROUPE OF UTAH will present "Fiesta Islands '96," a two-hour presentation celebrating the Philippine culture, Saturday, June 15, at the Woods Cross High School auditorium, 600 W. 2200 South, Woods Cross.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 general admission and $3 for children. Proceeds will go to Operation Smile, a private, non-profit organization that mobilizes teams of volunteer medical professionals to provide reconstructive surgery and educational support and training in developing countries.

The event is a joint celebration of Utah's centennial and the Philippines' 50 years as an independent republic.
