FJC&N, 215 S. State, won a CLIO Award in the direct mail category at the recent 1996 International Advertising Festival and Creative Expo. The only other CLIO in that category went to a London-based company.
The advertising and public relations agency produced a direct mail piece titled "We Don't Waste Anything" for a fund-raising event for Habitat for Humanity, an organization helping people with housing remodeling. The piece was made of actual scraps of insulation board and plywood gathered from a Habitat for Humanity site.Dave Newbold, FJC&N creative director, said the CLIO is the Oscar of the advertising business and the most well-known advertising award in the world. "The success of this innovative, low-cost invitation again demonstrates that a big idea is more important than a big budget," he said.
