David Blaine Phillips, age 15. Our valiant and courageous scout was called to serve in a very special mission on June 5, 1996 while hiking in the Grand Canyon.
David came to this world on his grandmother's birthday, July 4, 1980 in Salt Lake City, bringing with him the light and sunshine of a brighter place. He is the son of Robin D. and Janene Pulley Phillips.David was a member of the LDS Church. He was active in scouting and his Aaronic Priesthood quorum. He loved the outdoors. David did not need to depart this existence for us to realize what a wonderful Christ-like example he was to all of us. He was not afraid to stand for righteousness or share his love with others.
He is survived by his parents; brothers and sisters: Shon, Angella (currently serving in the Austria Vienna LDS mission), Heather, Brooke, Chelane, Doug Oswald, Lisseth Madsen. Grandparents: Warren and Darlene Phillips; Blaine and Marie Pulley. Also surviving is his great-grandmother, June Phillips.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 1996 at 1 p.m. at the North Canyon 3rd LDS Ward, 2505 South Davis Blvd., Bountiful. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and on Tuesday at the church from 11:30-12:30. Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
