Thelma Ellen Robbins Evans, age 99, died peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, July 8, 1996.

She was born February 4, 1897 in Mountain Green, Morgan County, Utah, to Joseph Burtis and Ellen Francine France Robbins. Married Alldridge Neslen Evans, June 5, 1918 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death January 3, 1950. Attended LDS High School and the University of Utah. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including 18 years as a dedicated Temple worker. Thelma devoted many years to family history and genealogical research. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and traveled extensively; but especially loved being with her family.Survived by sons, Joseph R. Evans, M.D. (Nadine), Gordon R. Evans, M.D. (Bonnie), and Leigh R. Evans (Fern); daughter, Florence E. (Gordon) Turner; daughters-in-law, Helen M. Evans and Janeth J. Evans; son-in-law, Boyd C. Wright; sister-in-law, Alice T. Evans. Preceded in death by sons, John Alldridge Evans and Burtis R. Evans, M.D. and daughter, Thelma Evans Wright; grandchildren, Carlos Jay Johnson and Allison Nash; brothers, Burtis F. Robbins, M.D. and C. Bicknell Robbins. She leaves a posterity of more than 150 who were greatly blessed by her life.

Funeral services Friday July 12, 1996, 12 noon, Eagle Gate Ward, 2nd Ave. & A Street, where family and friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery, under direction of Larkin Mortuary.
