Afton Cook Jorgensen, 92, died July 9, 1996 of natural causes.
Born May 29, 1904 in Wallsburg, Utah to Robert and Alice Sophia Kerby Cook. She was raised in Orem by her father and older sisters, her mother having died in childbirth when she was two years old. She married Abraham Darrel Jorgensen April 10, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 10, 1968. She was a wonderful mom who spent her life serving and helping her family and anyone in need. We have been blessed by her love as have hundreds she has served in the temple.She is survived by her children: Glenna (Herman) Buhler; Clive (Sheila); Robert (Janice); Paul (Linda); and Elva (Lee) Atwood. A daughter, Ellare, preceded her in death. She has 27 grandchildren (one deceased), 36 great grandchildren (one deceased), and two great-great grandchildren. Her parents, brothers and sisters preceded her in death: Mary Alice (Alma) Mecham; Elizabeth; Robert Lynn (Roselee); Harriet; Blanche (J. Levi) Kitchen; Isabelle (Alfred Newel) Knight; Estella (Laurence) Gale; Bessie (Harry) Baer; Katherine (Rulon Francis) Bell.
Funeral Services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 15th Ward, 455 East 300 North. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial, Orem City Cemetery.
