A new Internet system recently set up by Sage Corp. of Orem makes the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce a one-stop shopping source for in-state and out-of-state information, according to Stanley B. Parrish, chamber president.

The new system allows the chamber to provide more timely communication with its members and Utah businesses. Also, the chamber's web site has been redesigned to better respond to the thousands of out-of-state information requests the organization receives each month. Those interested in relocating to Utah can find chamber member information on real estate, banking, schools and similar subjects. The web site also is an excellent resource for business-to-business communication among members, he said.

New to the chamber's web site is a resource page where members can advertise their businesses. In turn, this information can be accessed by users on the World Wide Web.

Chamber members without a web site can establish one through Sage for a $35 monthly fee and a commitment for a minimum of six months. In return, Sage will design a single homepage and e-mail system as well as maintaining the member's site.

Parrish said that in coming months, an Intranet system also will be established at the chamber. Intranet is the application of Internet technology but remains within an organization for more security. Each staff member will have a homepage with departmental information that chamber members can access for updated information.
