Morton Downey Jr., who became famous for having a big mouth, is now using it to speak out against smoking.
The former talk show host says he was "an idiot" for smoking and blames it for giving him lung cancer. He's scheduled for surgery Friday."It's the worst habit I've ever had in my life," he told the syndicated TV show "Extra" in an interview.
Downey, 63, made no attempt to hide his smoking as the argumentative host of "The Morton Downey Jr. Show" in the 1980s.
He has taped four public service announcements for the American Lung Association.
