Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Andrew Francis Wenchel, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 1996, after a brief stay at Crosslands Care Center, Sandy, Utah.

He was born Dec. 25, 1913, Brooklyn, New York, to Louis John Wenchel and Emilia Merz. He married Phoebe Elizabeth "Betty" Bedell, July 3, 1938 in Hempstead, Long Island, New York. They enjoyed 53 loving years together until she preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1991.He worked in the advertising department of the New York Daily News for more than 45 years. He was a dedicated elder in the Presbyterian Church and then a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a stake missionary, ward clerks, and rendered many acts of loving service as a home teacher and dear friend. He enjoyed working hard and accomplished many things, including building his family's summer cottage. Always dedicated to his loving wife and family, he loved to travel with them and highly valued learning and education. Andrew's friendly, outgoing nature will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Wenchel, Jr., Arlington, Virginia; daughters, Patricia Anne Shuman, Sandy, Utah; Linda Sue Allred, Sandy, Utah; brother, Edward Wenchel, Wantagh, Long Island, New York; sister, Helen Bates, Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren, Andrew Wenchel, III, McLean, Virginia; Melissa Lin Fuller, Sandy; Corey T. Shuman, Sandy; Zachary T. Allred, Sandy; Alexander Wynns Wenchel, Arlington, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Samuel C. Fuller and Laura Lin Fuller, Sandy, Utah; and soon to be born, Kelsey A. Shuman.

Funeral services Saturday, July 13, 1996, 11 a.m. at the Mt. View Memorial Estates Chapel, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 South). Friends may call at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South), Friday, July 12, 1996 from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the Mt. View Chapel. Interment Mt. View Memorial Estates.
