The Alpine School District has reached a contract agreement with its classified employees, but the certified employees, which include teachers, will have to wait at least another month.
The Alpine School Board approved a negotiated agreement this week that will give classified employees a 4 percent base salary increase next school year. With step and lane increases and the increased value of insurance benefits, the total package is worth 5.4 percent more than last year, district officials say.
Meanwhile, negotiations with certified employees were put on hold several weeks ago and probably won't resume until August, said district administrator Susan Stone.
