Alma Clara Gutekunst Grothe, age 90, died July 9, 1996 in Salt Lake City.
Born March 25, 1906 in Basel, Switzerland to Albert and Marie Rosalie Stocklin Gutekunst. Married Karl Grothe on December 31, 1933 in Rathenow, Germany, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1993.Active member of the LDS Church. Served as Relief Society president during the war. Loved handy work such as knitting and crocheting. She had a generous, out-going nature.
Survived by daughter, Christa M. (Gerald) Julian, Murray; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service Saturday, 3 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, where friends may call Saturday 2-3 p.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
