I would like to express my dismay at the lack of coverage of the Children's Centennial Choir.

All I could find in the July 1, July 5 and July 6 editions of the Deseret News was one line on the choir's Sunday, June 30, performance, and that was in the Church News. That one line was dedicated to the color of their shirts. There was no mention of the children and the songs they performed. There were 2,000 local youths that put in lots of time and effort into these performances. As a parent and a lifelong resident of Utah, I was very proud of these young people. These children worked hard to be able to perform in these programs. They arose early in the mornings and gave up their own time to attend rehearsals.

I feel these children deserve a lot more praise and gratitude than they received. They worked hard for these performances and portrayed patriotism and pride for both state and country. They also learned the songs in sign language, learning, and hopefully teaching many adults, that this county is made up of a diverse population and that we all have great opportunities and blessings living in this state and country. These youth are our future, and we need to show are appreciation and support for them all.
