Derick Wendell Curtis, 14, son of Wendell L. and Nancy Smith Curtis, died of a drowning accident July 10, 1996 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born March 31, 1982 in Logan, Utah. He attended school in West Jordan, Utah and Fishers, Indiana, having just completed the eighth grade. He was a member of the LDS Church and was serving as a teacher in the Fishers Ward. He loved participating in the Scouting program and was already a good missionary. Derick was a wonderful example to his family and friends and will be greatly missed.He is survived by his parents; brothers and sisters: Alicia, Heather, Sarah, Brandon, Jennifer, and Aaron Curtis, all of Fishers, Indiana; grandparents, Donald and Delores Curtis of Orangeville, Utah; and Elmer and Barbara Rinderknecht of Providence, Utah.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, 1996 at 10 a.m., in the Fishers LDS Stakehouse, Fishers, Indiana. A viewing will be held in the Providence 4th Ward Chapel on Monday, July 15, 1996 from 10:30-12 noon, with a memorial service following at 12. Burial, Logan Cemetery.
