Estrid Louise Pollei died July 10, 1996 in Salt Lake City.

She was born in Gavle, Sweden on December 31, 1897 to Carl Olaf and Anna Louise Ahlene Nilsson. Estrid completed her education at the Washington School in Salt Lake City. Her teacher loved her and tutored her until she spoke English properly, spelled efficiently and developed a good penmanship. She loved music and aspired to becoming a singer. Her aspirations were forded when she married a German immigrant and promptly learned to speak German. She was a member of the Scandinavian Choir.She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her daughter, Margaret; three sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her son, Charles; three granddaughters, Karin Behrends, Vicki Boothe, and Linda Hincy; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother. Her passing was attended by many loving family members. The family would like to thank the staff of the 5th South Family Care Unit at the U of U Medical Center.

Her funeral will be held at the Ensign Peak Ward, 125 East North Sandrun Road at 12 noon, on Saturday, July 13, 1996 with a viewing prior to 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum and Mortuary.
