Our beloved, father, grandfather, brother and, friend, Weldon Smith Peterson, 85, was called home by our loving and gracious Heavenly father on July 7, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Weldon was born July 29, 1910, in Logan, Utah, the son of Joseph Smith and Zina Jemina Sparrow Petersen. He married Leah Callahan Goodliffe on April 28, 1934. Weldon worked for the Utah State Road Commission for 35 years. He loved to fish and hunt and garden. He was an active member of the LDS church and attended the Temple regularly. Weldon was a kind and loving individual who was respected and admired by all who knew him.Survived by five daughters, Kathryn Goodliffe Waters, Glenna Goodliffe Lloyd (Jesse), Iris Goodliffe Beer (Ted), Marilyn Peterson Neff (Robert), all of Salt Lake, Shirley Peterson Moore (Tom), Houston, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Veda Booth, Pomona, Calif.; Blanche Doe, Ogden, Utah. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, son-in-law, one grandchild, one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 1996, 11 a.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
