Barbara S. Moore, a secretary for special education and at-risk student programs in the Murray City School District, has been named the district's classified employee of the year.
She has worked in the office 15 years and has also worked as a substitute teacher. "I enjoy working in an area where you can be part of making positive things happen. I see so many people dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people," Moore said.Steve Hirasi, the Murray District's director of at-risk programs, describes Moore as the mainstay of the at-risk department. "She goes above and beyond what is expected, taking a tremendous load off an administrator. She is pleasant, well organized, efficient, professional and a quick learner," Hirasi said.
