The Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will honor public-spirited individuals and corporations at the Lifesavers & Tee It For Life Award Dinner.
The event will be held at Park Meadows Country Club in Park City on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m.This year's "Unsung Hero Award" will be given to Maggie Snyder, who works as a physicians assistant with Dr. Kristen Ries in the fight against AIDS. Larry Bowers receives this year's "Hero Award" for placing himself at great risk to save the life of Thomas Green in Murray Park on July 4, 1995.
NOVUS services will receive the "Samaritan Award" in the business realm for its significant community support. Camp Any Town will receive the "Samaritan Award" for a Public Service Agency for the work it does with children of all denominations and races.
The "Distinguished Public Servant" award will go to Palmer DePaulis, who has remained very active in community affairs since his tenure as mayor of Salt Lake City.
