Based on a tremendous experience last year, I took my family again this year to the Salt Lake Buzz game and fireworks celebration on the Fourth of July. Attending a baseball game in a traditional ballpark and celebrating Independence Day with a fireworks display is a great tradition to have. However, the experience this year left much to be desired.

The fireworks were choreographed not to a selection of patriotic music, but rather a series of rock 'n' roll songs. I can only assume that one of the sponsors, KBER 101, was responsible for this. Rock 'n' roll is fine, but on this occasion I would like to hear "The Star Spangled Banner," "God Bless America" and the myriad other songs that evoke pride and gratitude for living in this great country. Instead I left disappointed and somewhat disturbed by the display. Judging from my conversations with others, I am not alone in this opinion.I do wish to thank the Buzz for a great game. Next year, however, my family will be attending the Stadium of Fire.
