Putting on the Summer Games is, well, an Olympic effort. Consider some of the work the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games has done while putting on the Games:
- Dealt with 5,877 contractors employing nearly 70,000 employees
- Completed 27,757 purchase orders with 6,366 vendors
- Accredited more than 184,000 people, including media, athletes and athletic delegations
- Imported more than 3,100 tons of freight, including 213 horses
- Laundered more than 300,000 towels, 6,600 sheets, 49,000 pillowcases and 24,000 blankets
- Delivered upwards of 2,000 box lunches to athletes daily
