Theron M. Lambert, 81, beloved husband, father and grandpa, passed away peacefully on August 10, 1996 in Provo, Utah, due to complications from cancer. He leaves a legacy of integrity, hard work, and commitment to family and God.
He was born October 29, 1914 in Roosevelt, Utah, son of Robert and Winnie Mackay Lambert. He married Verl Johansen September 16, 1938 in the Alberta LDS Temple. They are the proud parents of seven children.They have lived and enjoyed friendships in Payson, New Jersey, Massachusetts, San Diego, Calif., Salt Lake City, Claremont, Calif. and Provo. He obtained his Masters' Degree in Physics from Brigham Young University. He enjoyed a distinguished career as a teacher and physicist, where he earned a national reputation in his specialty.He was best known to his grandchildren for his original "Grumpy the Bear" stories. He gave a lifetime of service to the LDS Church, most recently as a Patriarch and Temple worker. His highest priority was his family.
Survived by his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, Verl; children, Allen, Ithaca, N.Y.; Roger Fresno, Calif.; Glen and Dale, both of Salt Lake City; Linda Bateman, Ephraim; Kevin, Provo; Ralph, Concord, Calif.; brothers, Wayne, San Francisco, Calif.; Maurice, Richland, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15, 1996 at 12 noon in the Edgemont 5th Ward Chapel, 350 East 2950 North, Provo. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will take place in the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
