Authorities have suspended their search for a 16-year-old boy who disappeared while swimming in the Colorado River near the Utah border.

Zach Limbach of Silt has not been seen since he went under the water on Saturday, the Mesa County Sheriff's Department reported.Sheriff's spokeswoman Janet Prell said the search was suspended Monday after authorities decided that the operation's focus should shift to body recovery.

Deputies and volunteer rescue workers began searching for Limbach Saturday after they received an emergency call from a cellular telephone. The caller said the boy disappeared while swimming.

"He was just swimming - the campsite was right by the river - and he went under the water and didn't come up," Prell said.

Volunteers and search and rescue teams used boats, jet skis and helicopters to search the Black Rock area about a mile from the Utah-Colorado border.
