The city might get another shot at buying land next to Legacy Elementary School to build a park.

Although American Fork wanted to buy 2.75 acres Alpine School District owns next to the school, it failed to submit a valid bid for it last month. The Alpine School Board decided to sell the property to a developer. The district and the developer, however, are having trouble coming to terms. The district administration will advise the board to reject all bids on the land at its next meeting, said Jack McKelvy, business administrator. The city and the district agree that building a park next to the school makes sense.
