SHARE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS TO GET $100,000 FROM CONGRESS

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, will present the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake with a $100,000 check Monday, Aug. 26.

The money is part of the national organization's $15.35 million appropriation from Congress, administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, a Department of Justice agency. Congress has called for a five-year effort to create 1,000 new Boys and Girls Clubs, including 200 in housing projects and 30 on Indian reservations.Hatch will also receive the Man and Youth Award, the Boys and Girls Clubs highest honor, for longtime support and dedication to helping America's youths.
