Buzz get blasted again
EDMONTON (AP) - It took George Williams 10 days after being demoted from the Oakland Athletics to hit a home run for Edmonton. Now he has hit four for the Class AAA Trappers in two games.
Williams hit Nos. 3 and 4 Tuesday night as the Trappers beat the Salt Lake Buzz 12-3 and extended their Pacific Coast League winning streak to seven games. The Trappers have outscored opponents 47-7 in their last four games, including a 14-1 win over Salt Lake on Monday.
Edmonton starter Bobby Chouinard (10-2) scattered eight hits and struck out five batters in six innings. Salt Lake starter LaTroy Hawkins (9-8) gave up 10 hits and 8 runs in 51/3 innings.
The Calgary Cannons also lost (12-3 to Colorado Springs), so Salt Lake remains 1 1/2 games behind for the wild-card spot.
