Henry August Koplin, 85, died August 3, 1996 at his home, incident to age.
He was born to Gustav Koplin and Lina Glissmeyer, in Salt Lake City, on May 26, 1911. He graduated from LDS High School and attended the U of U. He served in the Swiss-German mission for 2 1/2 years, stayed an additional 2 years compiling Koplin genealogy. His wife-to-be waited those 4 1/2 years for his return. He married Ruth Emily Parkinson in the Salt Lake Temple. During the seventies, Henry served a Temple Square mission. Right after his retirement Henry and Ruth served a Temple Mission in Hawaii. For another eleven years he did genealogy extraction.He worked at Holsum Bread Company until 1949 and then began his work as buyer at ZCMI until his retirement in 1978.
Henry and Ruth loved to ballroom dance and they belonged to many dance clubs. They traveled to many far off places and always looked forward to their next trip.
He is surved by his son, Ronald, of Salt Lake City; daughter, Norma (Joseph A.) Jenkins, Provo; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Henry is survived by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 1996 at 12 noon at the Ensign 4th Ward, 9th Avenue and K Street. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and Wednesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the ward. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
