The Sevier County Fair and Southern Utah Jr. Livestock Show will open jointly Wednesday. The stock show will conclude Friday, while the fair will extend through Saturday.
The judging of fair exhibits will take place Wednesday with an opening ceremony and program beginning at 5 p.m. Horse pulls will be at 6 p.m. followed at 8 p.m. with horse barrel racing in the arena and the Miss Teen Sevier contest on the midway stage.Major stock show events will include judging from 1 to 2:30 p.m., followed by beef, hog and sheep fitting and showmanship.
Continuing events will be as followed:
Livestock show will include judging of market hogs at 8 a.m., lambs at 10 a.m., market beef at 1 p.m. and breeding beef at 2 p.m.
Fair events: Senior program, 10 a.m.; senior box lunches, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Bingo, 11 a.m.; talent performances noon to 2 p.m.; children's centennial choir, 12:30 p.m.; "The Music Man" Broadway musical, 2 p.m.; and tractor competition, 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Livestock events will include an exhibitor's award breakfast at 7 a.m., concluding with a 10 a.m. auction.
Fair events: Bingo, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Ronald McDonald show, 12:30 p.m.; talent performances 1:30 to 5 p.m. Other afternoon activities will include a pie contest, wild horse exhibit, Mr. Sevier selection, a petting zoo, family centennial contests, bike races and "Music Man" at 8 p.m.; followed by a centennial dance.
Major events include a 5K run and a children's 1-mile run at 7 a.m.; cookout king contest and ATV rodeo at 10 a.m.; farm bureau talent find at 11 a.m.; "Music Man" at 4 p.m. (with a final performance Monday at 8 p.m.); and a Lion's Club demolition derby at 7 p.m.
During the day there will also be a pet show and petting zoo, dance presentations, watermelon eating contests, Bingo, 4H fashion and talent reviews, a country sing-a-long, cowboy poets and a teen dance.
