A prosecutor demanded Wednesday that Susan McDougal be held in contempt of court for refusing to answer questions before the Whitewater grand jury.

Prosecutor W. Ray Jahn called McDougal a "recalcitrant witness" and said she had violated a judge's order to testify before the panel investigating the president and first lady's Whitewater land dealings.McDougal and her ex-husband, James, were partners with the Clintons in the Whitewater land development in northern Arkansas. Both were convicted in May on felony fraud counts brought by the Whitewater prosecutor.

She had received a subpoena on Aug. 20, the day she was sentenced to two years in prison on four Whitewater-related felonies.
