HB 120's township section allows citizens in unincorporated areas to pursue the right of self-determination and community peace. At first reading, the township section appears simple and flawed. However, so did the Declaration of Independence to King George of England.

The Council of Salt Lake Valley Mayors, created by government for the benefit of government, claims that officials are unable to balance city budgets. Yet the curiously created Council of Mayors, on their own admission, sign into exclusive special plans that lead to "annexation for taxation." Its members appear to apply mere Band-Aids for solutions. The mayors support a 51 percent super-majority vote on townships. They ignore the sponsoring representatives' statement that "the original intent of the bill was a simple majority," as the court recently ruled. They also request a judicial clarification of the letter of the law, which positions and exploits townships for destruction and death.

Fortunately, the Founding Fathers understood and realized the importance of the spirit of the law and the liberty it brings, as well as the severity of the letter of the law. This court action on townships, if it should stand, will set law into precedence. I am quite confident elections will reach new heights, promoting greater meaning and excitement across Utah and America.
