- Thirty-five art students from Kearns High School will have a private showing of their work at the Davis County "Parade of Homes." The showing will be at 1454 E. Skyline Drive in Bountiful. The Institute is a 16 year-old non-profit organization that offers community resources for children who love to draw. The students will present work in drawing, painting, sculpture, prints, books art, photography, Super-8 films, animation, computer graphics and clay. - Photographer John Telford will exhibit 50 photographs on the old meetinghouses and pioneer tabernacles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Among the photographs is a striking scene of the Bountiful Tabernacle, designed by Augustus Farnham and built between 1857 and 1863. Other tabernacles pictured in the exhibit are St. George, Provo, Logan and Brigham City.
Workshops, lectures and classes
- The Utah Museum of Natural History will present a series of lectures focusing on Utah's Canyon Country. The first lecture will spotlight Ken Sleight, a guide and activist from Moab, Utah, who will explore environmental and recreational issues, focussing on the Cedar Mesa area. The lecture will be Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in room 319 of the Museum.
