Irene Perry passed away January 12, 1997 in Salt Lake City at her home, at a youthful 82 years old.

She was born February 23, 1914 in Sandy, Utah to Joseph E. and Martha Zetterquist Thornblad and graduated from Jordan High School in 1933. Married LaRelle Thomas Perry on August 19, 1937. Later divorced. A member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Irene worked as a clerk for IML Freight and retired in 1979 after 23 years. She also volunteered for Travelers Aid for 13 years.

A friendly, energetic lady, Grandma was always on the go. She loved to cook, garden and travel. Her driver's license was her most prized possession.

She is very loved and will be greatly missed by her son Robert (Rose) of West Jordan and daughter Linda (John) Thompson of Citrus Heights, CA; twenty grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother, Lavon and Margaret Koster, both of Idaho Falls, Doris Thornblad, of Salt Lake City; and Royal Thornblad of Kanab. Preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Mary, Lucille, Raymond, Harold, Heber, Ross and Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 1997, 11 a.m. at the Wells Ward, 5th East 1990 South. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the ward one hour prior to services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
