John William Bradford, a gentle, caring man, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by loving family at St. Joseph's Villa, on January 15, 1997 of complications from a stroke and blood disease. Jack will be remembered for his kindness and concern for all.

Born September 3, 1917 to John Rawsel and Lenore Maxwell Bradford in Salt Lake City. Married Kathryn Cannon in 1940 in Pueblo, Colorado. Marriage later solemnized in Salt Lake Temple. Kathryn died in 1983. Married Barbara Zerfas Hillery in Honolulu in 1987.Held numerous positions in LDS Church. Served in Madison Ward bishopric in 1950's. High priest in Monument Park 10th Ward at time of death. Long-time employee of telephone company, beginning with Western Electric in 1940, retiring from Mountain Bell in 1980. A veteran of World War II, Jack served as a Staff Sergeant in Germany. Active in South Salt Lake Lions Club.

Survived by wife, Barbara Hillery Bradford; daughter, Barbara Jean Stottern and son-in-law, Riley Stottern, St. George; granddaughters, Tracy (Gary) Hannay, Kamas; Johnelle (David) Homer, Wanship; and Leslie (Jonathan) Truman, Las Vegas; grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, Sydney, Dylan, Antigone; stepdaughter, Vicki Stoneberger and her son, Brian; numerous nieces and nephews; brother and sisters, Clive (Leila) Bradford; Gwen (Jack H.) Goaslind; Afton (Howard) Bradshaw; Phyllis (William) Bradshaw, all of Salt Lake, and Rhea (David R.) Allen, St. George; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Marvin) Bradford, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mary (Charles) Bradford, Arlington, Virginia; and Dolly (Carol) Bradford, Salt Lake. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Kathryn; brothers, Marvin, Carol and Charles.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, January 20, at Monument Park 1st 2nd Ward, 1005 So. 2000 East. Friends will be welcomed Sunday, January 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 So. and one hour prior to services at the church.

In memory of Jack, donations are suggested to St. Joseph's Villa, 475 E. Ramona, Salt Lake City, Utah 84105.
