Paul Johnson Maughan, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, 87, passed away December 29, 1996 at home in Salt Lake City.

Born November 9, 1909 in Logan, Utah to Heber C. and Ragna J. Maughan, the ninth of 12 children. Paul was the last surviving grandson of Peter Maughan, early Mormon pioneer who settled Cache Valley, Utah.Married Ruth Clark on May 13, 1939, later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for over 50 years. Member of the IBEW, veteran of World War II and an active High Priest in the LDS Church. Served a Family History mission with his spouse and held many leadership positions during his life.

Survived by wife Ruth of 57 years, sister Virginia Andrus, Salt Lake City; daughter Beth Tingey; sons Paul G. (Susan), Salt Lake City; Heber C. (Ann), Salt Lake City and Robert C. (Dixie) Provo and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.). Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to service.

Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
