SHARE CHRISTOPHER BREAKS WRIST AFTER INAUGURAL

Warren Christopher fell and broke his left wrist while cleaning out the garage of his home on his last day as secretary of state.

Christopher, 71, was taken to Georgetown Hospital by his security detail Monday. He was treated and then went directly to the airport for a flight to Los Angeles.Christopher had attended President Clinton's inauguration and returned to his home in Georgetown, where he and his wife, Marie, were preparing for their move back to Southern California.

State Department spokeswoman Nancy Beck said Christopher fell while cleaning out his garage, but she had no information on what caused him to fall.
