- CALL FOR ENTRIES

The National Park Academy of the Arts and the National Park Foundation announce a call for entries for the 11th annual "Arts for the Parks" competition. The national competition searches for 100 paintings that best capture the "essence" and diversity of the landscape, wildlife and history of the national park system. Deadline for entries is June 1. The Utah Arts Festival is accepting applications from visual and performing artists to be part of the 1997 event set for June 26-29 at the Triad Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Interested artists may pick up an application from the Utah Arts Festival office, 168 W. 500 North. Festival jurists will select 120 visual artists and 50 performing artists from the applicants. Applications for visual artists are due by Friday, Feb. 14, and Friday, Feb. 21, for performing artists. For more information on submitting applications, contact Robyn Nelson at 322-2428.
