More than 100 scholars from the United States and several foreign countries will be in the University Park Hotel Feb. 6-8 for the seventh annual Utah Winter Finance Conference.
Jim Schallheim and Avner Kalay, conference co-chairmen, said the event is sponsored by the David Eccles School of Business' finance department and has grown in popularity since its 1991 start. Ten papers on financial economics will be presented.Topics scheduled for presentation this year will be executive compensation, strategic competition and relative performance evaluation, management of capital structure, optimal investment, growth options and security returns, risk premia and persistent futures price patterns.
The conference in limited to 125 participants and presenters. Schools represented will be Dartmouth College; Northwestern University; Pennsylvania State University; University of Chicago; University of Maryland; University of California at Berkeley; New York University; University of California at Los Angeles; Vanderbilt University; and universities in France, England, Austria and Israel.
