A grand jury refused to indict a man who said he jokingly demanded money from a teller at a campus bank.
Michael Johnson, a 33-year-old freshman at the University of Akron, said Thursday that he was glad to be cleared."I messed up, I admit it," he said. "It was silly, but I made a mistake of joking around, telling people: `Give me all your money.' "
Akron prosecutor Douglas Powley said the First-Merit Bank teller believed Johnson was serious last week when he put his hand in his coat and demanded money. Johnson left the bank with $10 of his own money.
