DEATH: VERA HANSEN

Vera Lucile Jellison Hansen, 90, died Jan. 30, 1997 at the Orchard Park Care Center in Orem, Utah.

She was born Nov. 27, 1906 in Buntingville, California to Cecil Chester and Julia Ramsey Jellison, the oldest child and only daughter with four sons. She married Don K. Hansen, Dec. 27, 1924 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Their first home was in Susanville, Calif. where they resided for a number of years and they also resided in Anderson and Redding, Calif. before moving to Utah in 1939. Both Lucile and her husband, Don, were actively involved with callings and responsibilities in the LDS Church. Lucile fulfilled leadership positions in Primary, Relief Society and Sunday School. She enjoyed teaching in these organizations, especially the youth and children. She listed baby-sitting as one of her hobbies as she loved caring for little children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of joy. Other interests included genealogy and family history. She loved flowers and found satisfaction raising all kinds of flowers around her home. Always busy with her hands, she knitted, crocheted, and won recognition with her tatting. She also made quilts, aprons, dolls, and doll clothes.Survived by one daughter, Dona (Melvin) Anderson, Lehi; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leland (Vannie) Jellison, Paradise, California; Kenneth (Lela) Jellison, Sparks, Nevada; a half-sister, Goldie (Walt) Gearing, Loma Linda, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, a son, Kenneth, an infant great-grandson, and two brothers, Charley Jellison and Bernard Jellison.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 3, 1997 in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 E. Main, Lehi, where friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
